The Alamo battle stirs the soul.  It is the epic creation myth of the Texas Republic, and arguably the American West.  This siege and battle, fought February 23 – March 6, 1836, between the Centralist Republic of Mexico and the Federalist-minded colonists of Texas, is still part of the American character today.

“Our flag still waves proudly from the walls...”

The Alamo remains a shining moment in Texas history; those Texians and what they accomplished do not require fabrication to remind us of their legacy.  For ultimately, the heroism endures.  No, it does more than endure.  It prevails.
